Like whiskey? Try: Spiritless Kentucky 74.
Bourbon-lovers will want to take Spiritless for a spin. After a recent reformulation, “they’ve completely hit it out of the ballpark,” says Watters, suggesting that all the right caramel, vanilla and oak tones are in place. After all, “being from Kentucky, they know how to do a good bourbon.”

Among Brown’s tricks for this drink: aquafaba (the liquid from a can of chickpeas) can be substituted for egg whites if preferred, and ginger root grates most easily when it’s frozen. As an alternative to DIY ginger syrup, Brown recommends Liber’s Fiery Ginger Syrup.
Directions
Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a highball or double rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with cherry and orange wheel.
How To make ginger syrup
Simmer 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar until the granules dissolve. Stir, remove from heat, and add 2 tablespoons unpeeled grated ginger root. Allow to cool. Add dash of lemon juice and strain any solids. Refrigerated, keeps up to 2 weeks.
